This is a movie that demonstrates simple shifting on the double bass. When shifting the thumb maintains contact with the neck of the instrument and at least one finger (sometimes more depending on the shift) maintain contact with the string. Shifting is a smooth connected motion. This movie demonstrates shifting up and down a Perfect 4th (E to A on the D string), a minor third (E to G on the D string), and a major second (E to F#).
