One Finger Scales

Begin on the note E on the D string with first finger. Play the whole scale up and down on the D string using only first finger.

One Finger Scale with Octave Leaps

Begin on the note E on the D string with first finger. Shift up an octave to E and back down. Then slide first finger to F#. etc. Play the whole scale. This exercise is very challenging. Focus on the technique of shifting, not the pitch. In the early stages, it is much more important that the technique of the shift is correct. The accuracy of the shift can be gradually refined.
