General Left Hand Position
Principles for All the Strings
- The wrist should be straight,
but not stiff or tense.
- The fingers should be curved.
All the finger joints should be bent in the direction they were intended
to bend.
- There should be no hyperextended
or locked joints.
- The left hand should not
support the weight of the instrument.
- The fingers of the left
hand should remain over the fingerboard, even when not in use.
