Three Octave Cello Scale System

This method for learning 3 octave major scales on the cello uses one universal fingering pattern for all keys:

XX CC 123 ↑ →

X = an extended hand shape
C = a closed hand shape

The key to using this pattern is to avoid using open strings and to remember to begin the third octave on the D string, crossing over to the A string with the thumb to complete the scale.
