The InternetIf you are reading this, you are probably interested in the educational potential of the internet. I am obviously a big proponent of using the web to provide students with information. There are many excellent websites for those interested in the teaching and learning of string instruments. Teachers can also use email, discussion groups, blogs, listservs, etc. to connect with their students and other teachers. Some teachers are using teleconferencing technology to have remote private lessons or coachings. ConclusionAlthough we are teaching an ancient art, I believe that string teachers can and should embrace modern technologies to enhance the quality of their instruction. I think that the technology needs to be in the service of the teacher, and not vice-versa. Not all of the technologies I have reviewed in this tutorial will be useful for every teacher. The first step is to identify your instructional needs, and then ask the question, "How could I use available technologies to enhance or improve what I am teaching?"
