Music Notation Software

The string teacher should be able to use music notation software to make arrangements, compositions, and create replacement parts from a score (for emergency situations). The two most widely used programs on the market are Finale and Sibelius. They both have their supporters and detractors. I am very familiar with both programs. They both have positive features and problems. Both companies frequently release upgrades to their software. Before purchasing, read the system requirements carefully.
